Paycheck: Michael Jennings is a reverse engineering expert. Companies hire him to reverse engineer other company's technology. Since this is obviously illegal, his memory is erased after each job he does. When he gets a much bigger job with a much bigger paycheck, he discovers at the end that he hasn't been paid. To make things worse, the FBI thinks he is guilty of murder and treason. He escapes and tries to solve the mystery. He has sent himself 19 objects from before his memory was erased. He must decipher just what they mean.
The Eel: A businessman viciously kills his spouse upon finding that she has been cheating on hi minutes. 8 years later, he is paroled from penitentiary, and might only interconnect to his pet eel, since it can not dishearten or betray hi minutes. Then he spares a female who has tried suicide after a poor love event. Cast Koji Yakusho, Misa Shimizu, Fujio Tsuneta, Mitsuko Baisho, Akira Emoto, Sho Aikawa, and Ken Kobayashi. (117 minutes, 1977)
Playing for Keeps: After completing high school, a group gets together to spare a run-down hotel from a selfish developer in an unfriendly town. This is a youth comedy from the 1980s that is aged and worth watching. Additionally, it is significant as the only directorial attempt by the founders and honchos of Miramax. Take heed of the regularly used montage! Cast includes Daniel Jordano, Matthew Penn, Leon W. Permit, Mary B. Ward, Marisa Tomei, Jimmy Baio, and Harold Gould. (102 minutes, 1986)
