Read Our Kindle DX Review.

By Adam Santii

There has been a lot of fuss made about the arrival of the new kindle DX. It 's is amazon's latest product and is larger than the first.

It is actually the same width as the first Kindle but it differes in that the DX screen is a full 9.7 ". Due to the increase in size the weight is also increased to just over 18 OZ.

The Kindle infrasturucture is the smae for the DX. That means access to over 300,000 books as well as papers magazines and periodicals. You can acess the network from anywhere with no fees needing to be paid. A book is obtained in less than a minute from start to finish.

The DX however has double the memory and will hold up to 3,500 books, (any others purchased can be held on the Amazon servers and downloaded at any time. The screen features the same 'paper ink' technology to make reading the screen like reading a printed page and there is no glare so it can be read in sunlight.

The DX also has a few well thought out and valuable extras.

Firstly the Display auto-rotates from a portrait setting to a landscape as you turn the device around. This allows the user to view full width maps, tables, graphs, photos and even web pages.

There is also a full PDF reader integrated into the DX, which allows people to read their PDF / Adobe documents from the machine. Access to the 3G infrastructure also allows them to be downloaded anywhere.

My one criticism is just the price as it is an expensive gadget. This will probably put some buyers off.
